Breakfast is awesome and the coffee is great! The service is fast and friendly! Come back for lunch or dinner and get the Big Daddy's Chicken Fried Steak! You won't leave hungry!

We stopped at this gem on our way back to Denver and sat outside on the sunny patio. The staff was nice, the food came quickly, and the atmosphere was comfortable. They specialize in comfort food like mozzarella sticks, chicken tenders, and country fried steak, and they do a really good job getting it all crispy and hot.

Absolutely the best burgers in town or near! Great menu as well. I'm just a burger guy. Their chicken fried steak is great as well. Great people too. Love this place

Family restaurant, veey cozy, good beer n food.

We took the waiters advice and ordered the chicken fried steak and a cheeseburger. Both were good size and very tasty. Service was prompt and friendly. A very old time, greasy spoon type of place. A great place for a quiet meal and conversation. A nice change from the concrete floor and metal ceiling surroundings of most newer restaurants.

Good food but very slow service

Greeted with a smile. Service was great. Food was like home cook'n with portions large enough even for my appetite. Restaurant and bathroom were clean. Worth the drive. It sits on the east end away from the downtown crowd.

Great food, atmosphere and service!

This is a diner type restaurant with a wide variety of food (country fried chicken, burgers, Mexican food, etc). The waitress was super friendly and our order came out fast and well prepared. The first two things we ordered, they were out of (wings and Soup of the day), but what we did get was tasty - mushroom Swiss burger, chili, and a chili relleno with rice and beans.

Well this place is quite the treat, they have an excellent burger. Absolutely mouthwatering, good prices, and the waiters and waitresses are very kind and friendly. I literally would give 6 stars if that was a thing, but other than that. This place is magnificent.

French onion soup was cold and the waitress didn't offer refills on drinks. Overall food was good. Way to expensive.

A perfectly placed restaraunt on the side of the highway heading to the ski resorts. An underwhelming but positive experience here. Our servers were outstanding. They asked about our day and staying conscientious about our food and drinks. A very friendly and positive staff usually makes a great experience and 5 star review. HOWEVER the fajitas I ordered were burnt and lacked flavor in the meat. Disappointed. We also ordered the guacamole burger which was okay but nothing to be excited for. The beef patty was cooked perfectly to temp but tasted bland lacking flavor. It was very underwhelming for the amazing reviews that this place has. We would return again but probably would order something else.

Simple no fuss restaurant BUT full of good home-type cooking.Was immediately made "at home and welcome" the moment we entered by Kirk and tipped off that the day's special was just cooked....Beef Pot Roast. Hubby and I both ordered it and the smell as it was being delivered to our table matched the taste. Truly delicious and home-cooked.Big serving portion yet price is very reasonable.Hit the jackpot when we decided to stop here.What could make it 5-star is the coffee. Sorry, Kirk....I am a coffee drinker and maybe, coffee could be made stronger. But, will definitely stop the next time we go your way.Check them out - Exit 241 going I-70 West... fantastic service and food.

Absolutely loved the food, and finally found someone that knows how to cook grits the right way.

Nice folks and great food, especially the chicken fried steak and Amarillo chicken. The taco salad was good too.

Damn good coffee! Kirk was a great server and treated us like family. They have their own hot sauces which are delicious!!! We ended up taking home the Habanero Garlic Hot Sauce. Amazing food as well. Will stop here again!

Great little family diner. Huge portions and amazing staff! Guacamole was fresh made and addictive. The dining room is open now.

This is a super family-friendly place! I have traveled to Colorado multiple times from Virginia and every time I can I stop in and get the chicken parmesan! I have never had such a good sauce in my whole life!I was very tempted to lick the plate! When you're in Idaho Springs do yourself a favor and stop by for a bite! Tell them Rita from Virginia sent you...They won't know who I am but they will know someone in Virginia loves their food!

The food was good. The service slow I think they could use more help. Waiter was asked to do to many different things she couldn't really wait on us that good.

I ate here on Saturday. The staff was nice and friendly. I order a breakfast omelette, with bacon in it. It came with the omelette potatoes and toast. The food was delicious. I would say they should put salt, pepper, hot sauce, and ketchup and every table. This is because my potatoes was just pain, and I would have loved to added some salt and pepper. Luckily our waitress asked did I need ketchup. I got to have ketchup with my potatoes. Overall it was delicious.

Excellent & very fast service! The waitress there brought items out to our table even before we asked...now that's impressive! The country fried steak was tasty and even the "normal" smaller portion was so huge with the option to add on a salad for a few bucks, which was nice! Friendly atmosphere! Nice stop to eat off the highway, clean, friendly, and tasty!

My first time there. Went at noon and offered both breakfast and lunch menu. Meat loaf was good, mashed potatoes. Nice size veggie menu. Close to interstate and down town. Homey feel.

Fantastic food with ample portions. The price is right and the service is friendly. I had the breakfast burrito one day, loved it so much I went back for the ultimate omelette the next day. If you ask me which is better I couldnt say, both are just delicious and filling. If you're in Idaho Springs, this is the place to go for breakfast.

Hey I feel for any small business right now but I used to love hill daddys and now the food takes forever and is overpriced and lame. I hope they change for the good.

Food was delicious and fairly prices probably go there instead of eat at Monarch ever again with their prices going sky high
